What will you do?
The Senior Logistics Manager (SLM) is a key position in the Operational Site Wide Logistics Delivery Team with the additional responsibility to deputise for the Operational Logistics Lead when required. This role will oversee the multimodal activity for the CWA and actively monitor performance and compliance.
The SLM is responsible for producing all logistic related policy and procedures as directed. These are to be approved by the Logistics Lead before submitting. They are to be reviewed regularly and uploaded via document control/IMS via the Central Logistics Planning Team.
This role is to be actively involved/engaged with system development reviews with the respective SMEs (Fulcrum / Bulksmart / Marine system - tbc) in conjunction with SZC/Lead Logistics Partner (LLP).
The role requires a proactive review process of the multimodal activity and data flow, providing recommendations as and when identified; this is a support function to the Central Logistics Prgram and Planning Team.
Risk/opportunity planning and reporting in conjunction with the Logistics Lead/Risk Managers.
The inspection of on-site activity is to be conducted no less than once monthly, and this is to include visits to satellite locations to assist as and when needed (Lowestoft/Avonmouth).
The role is to assist with the onboarding of other CWA elements and introduce policies and procedures as highlighted above.
The SLM is to attend the Logistics SLT along with the Logistics Lead.
Consolidate reports within the Operational Logistics Management Team and prepare monthly compliance and performance reports, this is a support function to the Central Logistics Planning
Team.
Lead on HR matters relating to the Multimodal elements of the team.
Deputise for the Operational Site‑Wide Logistics Lead as required, ensuring continuity of leadership, decision-making, and operational oversight.

Knowledge & Skills
Essential
Experience of delivery in large UK civil engineering projects
Proven evidence of writing Logistics Strategy and Construction Logistics Plans
Advanced CLOCS (CLP) Construction Logistics Planning Qualified (minimum level Practitioner)
Desirable
Understanding of Rail and Marine Logistics is desirbale but not essential
Understanding of Commercial Fleet Management Systems (FORS, Mission Zero)
Understanding of AIL process
Understanding of CLOCS
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
CSCS
Desirable or equivalent
IOSH Managing safety or SMSTS
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT); preferred level CMILT (minimum MILT)
