Arm's Central Engineering Machine Learning Group is seeking highly motivated and creative Software Engineers to join a cross-site and multi-culture software team. This role presents an excellent opportunity to move into ML, the key development for the future of computing. Working on the groundbreaking Arm technology, you will be crafting the software that powers the next generation of mobile apps, portable devices, game development, and more. You will work on an open‑source project that helps developers integrate and deploy machine learning workloads through Vulkan, enabling portable development across a wide range of platforms and devices. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of machine learning, graphics and compute APIs, compilers, runtime libraries, developer tooling, and next‑generation GPU/NPU hardware.
Responsibilities
* Design and implement a Software Development Kit (SDK), ensuring it meets the needs of various users, including ML compiling technologies and high‑performance ML runtime libraries targeting next‑generation GPU hardware.
* Learn new techniques and develop new technologies, sharing knowledge with other specialists across the company.
Required Skills And Experience
* Strong software engineering skills with extensive modern C++ experience and solid scripting skills, preferably Python.
* Experience in designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining production‑quality software.
* Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, code review, CI, testing, and agile development practices.
* Ability to work across different development platforms, such as Linux, Android, emulators, software models.
* Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to various engineering problems.
* Good written and spoken communication skills in English to collaborate with various teams.
Nice To Have Skills and Experience
* Open‑source software development of large projects with complex dependencies, including public code reviews, documentation, release notes, issue tracking, and community engagement.
* Experience with Vulkan or other low‑level graphics and compute APIs, such as OpenCL, CUDA, DirectX, or Metal.
* Experience with machine learning frameworks, inference runtimes, model formats, or model conversion tooling.
* Experience with CMake, cross‑compilation, packaging, dependency management, or developer tooling.
* Experience with performance analysis, profiling, optimization, or benchmarking.
* Experience with Android, embedded Linux, mobile platforms, software models, emulators.
Salary Range
£73,500 - £99,500 per year
