An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to take up the role of Cancer BI Developer & Analyst at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is supported by the Cancer Alliance and will focus on developing reporting suites and performance dashboards from a variety of data sources to improve cancer pathways, enhance clinical outcomes and patient experience.
As part of a team designing and implementing new processes, you will optimise existing systems and data, and introduce new solutions to help clinical, corporate and support staff focus on what matters most.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides comprehensive hospital and community services across East and West Cheshire, serving a population of approximately 756,000 and employing over 5,500 staff.
Responsibilities
* Provide a professional Business Intelligence (BI) information service to the Cancer Services team, other service users and clinicians. Develop intelligence reporting solutions by extracting information from electronic and manual information systems, and using effective information technology products for analysis and presentation of outputs.
* Support the Cancer team in ensuring the Trust meets national cancer data submissions on time and accurately.
* Extract high-quality data and provide end-user analysis and interpretation to support the Trust’s business and service objectives.
* Act as a subject‑matter expert, troubleshooting, analysing and recommending best courses of action for peers and stakeholders.
* Guide and support others as a senior figure in the BI team and Cancer transformation group.
* Assist clinical and non‑clinical staff in research and development work, and support the Trust’s Clinical Audit and Effectiveness Programme.
* Be responsible and accountable for external audit regarding data quality and submission accuracy.
* Liaise with Digital Technology and Information Services (DTIS) and wider Trust teams to secure up‑to‑date datasets and feeds via the data warehouse, tables and databases, ensuring reporting and submissions are based on accurate data definitions.
* Design, develop and maintain information reporting systems, databases, integrated and automated dashboards, and query tools to support the Trust and its divisions on a routine basis.
* Design, develop and implement data validation and quality assurance systems and methodologies to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
* Research and maintain an understanding of new technologies and techniques, applying them as appropriate and keeping the team informed.
* Ensure that all software developed and information outputs produced are documented in accordance with departmental standards and are subject to stringent quality assurance testing before release.
