NHS Lanarkshire Consultant in Breast Radiology Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Radiologist with a subspecialty interest in Breast Radiology. This is a replacement post available from the start of August 2026. The appointment will be to NHS Lanarkshire, based at University Hospital Wishaw with potential cross‑site working between University Hospitals Monklands and Hairmyres. The role is strictly breast radiology only, with no on‑call duties; general radiology sessions may be incorporated if required.
Key Responsibilities The postholder will investigate and manage both benign and malignant breast disease. Responsibilities include:
Reporting one‑stop clinics, MRI, tomosynthesis, and contrast mammography
Wireless localisation of impalpable breast cancers
Performing a full range of procedural skills, including US and stereotactic biopsy
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams for patient care
Qualifications and Experience
Comprehensive training in breast radiology
Experience with one‑stop clinics, MRI, tomosynthesis, and contrast mammography reporting
Experience with wireless localisation and a full range of procedural skills such as US and stereotactic biopsy
Full‑time preferred, but part‑time applications considered; EPA’s may be available for both part‑time and full‑time positions
