At IPS, we apply our knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to life sciences. We are looking for a dedicated Senior Buyer to join our EMEA Team.

The Senior Buyer will report directly to the Head of Procurement UK/EMEA Lead Procurement

The Senior Buyer is responsible for the end-to-end management of the procurement cycle for their assigned packages in accordance with project specific requirements. This is inclusive of pre-order procurement activities and post-order award management. Assigned packages will be a blend of the following IPS work streams:

1. Capital equipment (process, mechanical, electrical, automation, instrumentation etc.)
2. Construction trade contracts
3. Professional services contracts
4. Office replace site indirect requirements

5. Experience in the end-to-end procurement process
6. Ability to work at pace within a project-based environment.
7. Experience working in a matrix environment as part of a cross-functional project team w
8. Ability to deal with time dependent requirements
9. Self-motivated, organized, and an effective problem solver
10. Sound Commercial acumen and ability to negotiate both commercial agreements and contractual Terms replace Conditions.
11. Sound analytical proficiency with a solid understanding of commercial replace contract risk.
12. IT Literacy is essential, strong experience in MS Office, ERP Systems is a must
13. Effective communicator with proven ability to effectively manage both internal replace external stakeholders
14. Ability to work both independently replace collaboratively in line with project requirements and working to established processes replace procedures

Job Duties and Responsibilities

15. Act as a senior representative of the procurement department to the wider IPS team and ensure that IPS’s procurement procedures are adhered to.
16. Act as representative of IPS to clients and be a key IPS interface for client procurement on assigned projects
17. Provide project procurement support replace advice to the wider IPS team replace clients on assigned projects
18. Involvement in project initiation including supporting development of the project procurement execution plan.
19. Manage the tender process for assigned packages. This will entail taking a package from the point of receipt of scope through enquiry, bid evaluation and to the point of recommendation to award.
20. Conduct detailed commercial evaluation of received supplier proposals
21. Prepare and submit Recommendation To Award packs for internal and external management approval
22. Prepare and issue Purchase Order/Contract packs
23. Conduct project reporting for both internal (IPS Project Managers) replace external clients (clients)
24. Obtain order confirmations to ensure services or materials are being scheduled per order requests.
25. Expedite orders to track timely receipt of goods or services.
26. Manage the change order process with suppliers and IPS replace client stakeholders for assigned orders
27. Manage the invoicing process with suppliers and IPS replace client stakeholders for assigned orders
28. Manage the order closeout process with suppliers and IPS replace client stakeholders for assigned orders
29. Maintain Approved Supplier Program records as well as request subsequent QA related documents.
30. Provide market updates (i.e., price increases, supplier mergers/acquisitions, supplier updates etc) to the wider IPS team as they become apparent.
31. Research new qualified contractors and vendors as needed.
32. Evaluate existing suppliers as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

33. Extensive prior experience in a project procurement role is a must, minimum 5 years.
34. Knowledge and experience of trade contracts and equipment procurement.
35. MCIPS qualification or working towards MCIPS is desirable
36. Daily use of excellent verbal and written communication in English is prerequisite.
37. May be required to travel for short durations periodically.

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required.
