Our client, HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS), is an agency of the Ministry of Justice. HMCTS provides administrative support for the legal system across England and Wales, ensuring justice works for everyone.
Role Details
* Full Time, 37 hours per week, 9am - 5pm
* This role is until the end of October 2025 (with a possibility of extension), offering valuable exposure/experience within the Public Sector.
* Pay rate: £12.36 per hour
* Location: Oxford Crown Courts
Primary Responsibilities
1. Balance usher and administrative duties, working where needed.
2. Serve as an essential first point of contact for court users.
3. Maintain regular contact with the judiciary and assist administrative staff.
4. Meet members of the public, including vulnerable witnesses, and their legal representatives; prepare court/hearing rooms.
5. Complete documentation and ensure the court operates efficiently.
6. Carry out general clerical work to support HMCTS operations.
7. Work within a team with regular management support and manage your own time.
Skills and Experience
* Friendly and approachable with excellent customer service skills.
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* IT proficient, with the ability to learn new technologies and software.
* Excellent organizational and time-keeping skills.
