Electrical Maintenance Engineer

AIM : To respond effectively to electrical breakdowns, ensuring that all safety requirements are met and communicate clearly to all stakeholders about the status of the work. To ensure that all equipment is electrically sound and that all records are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
HOURS: Monday to Thursday 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm rotating shifts. Friday 6am - 12pm / 12pm - 6pm.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
To undertake such training as required by your Supervisor or Manager and to assist in the training of others.
Create and maintain effective relationships with teams, supervisors and other work-based contacts.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of product and service quality.
Ensure that your actions and the actions of other individuals do not compromise the legal requirements and safety standards.
Perform your duties in accordance with the Company Manual and other departmental documentation, such as Work Instructions or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Recognise the value of the Company's resources that are used in the course of your work.
Conduct yourself in accordance with the policies set out in the Company Rule Book.
Comply with the requirements placed on you by the Safety Management System and the Environmental Management System.SPECIFIC DUTIES
Perform activities within key operating targets (where appropriate detailed on an attached target sheet).
Carry out any reasonable request from any member of the Management team within the general scope and purpose of the job.
Plan and schedule work activity for electrical installations.
Aid with the training of Technicians and apprentices.
Contribute to the resolution of technical and production problems.
Complete work to comply with departmental procedures.
Assist in carrying out electrical Risk Assessments in line with Company Health & Safety requirements.
Ensure all electrical work conforms to internal standards, BS7671 (I.E.E. Regulations) and Electricity At Work Act.
Ensure all required inspection and testing is carried out and all relevant information is logged, stored, and kept up to date for the following: -
New and existing Electrical Installations.
New and existing Machines.
New and existing Portable Appliances.
New and existing Residual Current Devices.
New and existing Emergency lights.
Fire alarm Installation.
Ensure that all breakdowns are dealt with promptly and efficiently with the minimum of machine downtime.SPECIFIC DUTIES
Electrical Maintenance experience.
Electrical qualifications as recognised by the JIB - ideally have completed a formal electrical installation apprenticeship.
AM1 + AM2.
