The Role
You will become part of one of our fun, friendly teams who support individuals with various learning and/or physical disabilities. You will support the individuals to maintain their tenancies in their own flats and support a young lady who currently lives nearby in her family home. Every day is different and exciting.
As a Support Practitioner you will assist with all aspects of daily living, including meal preparation, housework, medication, finances, and appointments. You will also help participants get out and about in their local communities, attending activities such as swimming, walking groups, day trips, city breaks, arts & crafts, animals, football and cooking sessions.
About You
Cornerstone does not require specific experience or qualifications; we value the person you are. We will pay for your training and provide you with all the practical skills you will need. We will also fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and annual SSSC registration fees.
Required Attributes
* A caring and compassionate attitude and approach
* The ability to work well in a team
* Confidence to go in the water as swimming is a popular activity
* Good communication and organisational skills
* A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
* Confidence in the use of computers
* A full clean driving licence is desirable but not essential
Shift Patterns
Working early mornings, days and evenings. Sleepovers, public holidays and weekends will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.
Sleepover pay is £100.80 per shift. Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours.
Please note that this contracted post cannot be worked around a university or college timetable.
