Job Title: Senior Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist
Location: Leeds and surrounding area/ Clinics and community
Contract Type: Part-time (Flexible) with the opportunity to become full-time
Salary: Competitive (Band 6 equivalent, dependent on experience)
Reports To: Clinical Lead / Practice Manager

Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality, evidence-based musculoskeletal physiotherapy services to a varied private caseload.
The post holder will work autonomously, manage complex MSK presentations, support junior clinicians, contribute to service development, and ensure an exceptional patient experience.
Due to the diversity of our local patient population, experience working with culturally diverse communities is highly valued. The ability to communicate effectively in Arabic or Farsi (Persian), in addition to English, would be highly desirable to support patient access, and for safe and effective continuity of care for our culturally diverse range of patients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Responsibilities
Independently assess, diagnose, and manage a broad MSK caseload, including complex and chronic cases.
Develop and implement individualised rehabilitation programmes incorporating:
Manual therapy
Exercise prescription
Functional rehabilitation
Pain management strategies
Education and self-management
Provide high-quality home-based physiotherapy services for adults over 16 years of age within their own home or in care homes across the community
Use validated outcome measures to monitor progress.
Identify red flags and refer appropriately.
Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant clinical documentation.
Demonstrate safe and effective autonomous decision-making.
2. Leadership & Team Support
Provide supervision and mentoring to junior physiotherapists, assistants, or students when applicable
Support induction and staff development.
Contribute to CPD sessions and case discussions.
Lead by example in professional behaviour and clinical reasoning.
3. Service Development & Governance
Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Assist in the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic.
Contribute to development of specialist services.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, infection control, and data protection regulations.
Maintain professional standards in line with HCPC and CSP guidance.
4. Communication & Patient Experience
Communicate complex clinical information clearly and empathetically.
Conduct full clinical assessments safely.
Adapt communication to meet cultural and individual patient needs.
Build strong therapeutic relationships to optimise adherence and outcomes.
Liaise effectively with GPs, consultants, insurers, and other healthcare professionals where required.

Qualifications & Registration
Essential
BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy
Current HCPC registration
Evidence of ongoing CPD
Eligible for professional indemnity insurance
Desirable
CSP membership
Postgraduate MSK or specialist training
Experience
Essential
Extensive post-qualification MSK experience at a senior level
Experience managing complex MSK cases independently
Demonstrated autonomous clinical reasoning
Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff or students
Desirable
Experience in private practice
Experience contributing to audit or service development and improvement
Experience working with culturally diverse communities

IT & Administrative Skills
Essential
Competent use of electronic clinical record systems.
Ability to maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent systems.
Understanding of data protection and GDPR compliance.

Experience using private practice management or booking systems.
Experience with outcome-measure tracking software.
