Working within the finance team, you will collaborate with other departments including Project Management, Purchasing, and Commercial to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting on contracted and internal projects, both actual and forecast.
Finance Project Support Officer will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role allows for flexible working. The salary for this role is up to £45k, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
* Project administration – from order acceptance you will set up the project in focal point as directed by the business with correct order, revenue, and invoice dates. In other situations, you will set up a project for internal use without financial information (e.g., Private Venture).
* On a monthly basis you oversee and update the financial forecast of projects, preparing project reports for the business and following review to update the business system to capture any changes.
* You will post any revenue that can be claimed on a project accurately, collect evidence for that revenue depending on its IFRS categorisation, and handle approving invoices submitted by project managers, matching against POs, verifying currency rates, etc.
Qualifications
* Previous experience of working project control/accounting in commercial project environments, within a defence‑related industry or manufacturing environment. Understanding of revenue trading is a plus.
* Excellent time‑keeping and communication skills.
* Interest in developing analytical skills (e.g., Excel, Power query, Power BI).
* Part or fully qualified in Accountancy (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, etc.) is desirable.
