Job Description – QA/QC Manager
Overview
We are seeking a suitably qualified QA/QC Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of quality assurance and quality control across structural steel fabrication and construction operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining third-party accreditations and ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain, develop, and continually improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
*
Oversee quality control activities for structural steel fabrication operations.
*
Ensure compliance with EN 1090 requirements up to Execution Class 3 (EXC3), including Factory Production Control (FPC) and welding quality management.
*
Act as Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC), ensuring compliance with ISO 3834-2 requirements.
*
Maintain Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQRs) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) databases.
*
Manage welder qualification testing and maintain welder approval records in accordance with EN ISO 9606 standards.
*
Coordinate and oversee Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and ensure full traceability of inspection results.
*
Liaise with clients and notified bodies during audits and quality reviews.
*
Prepare and manage Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs), project quality documentation, and site quality packs.
*
Issue, monitor, and close out Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), both internal and external, and coordinate client inspection notifications.
*
Conduct internal audits and assess subcontractor fabrication facilities to ensure compliance with EN 1090 and ISO 9001 standards.

Provide technical guidance to site teams on welding, inspection, and quality matters, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
*
Ensure all structural steelwork activities meet applicable standards and project specifications up to EXC3.
Candidate Requirements
*
Minimum 6 years’ experience within the structural steelwork industry.
*
Strong background in welding and fabrication, including inspection processes and LTQR documentation.
*
CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 Welding Inspector certification.
*
Proven experience acting as Responsible Welding Coordinator in accordance with ISO 3834-2 and EN 1090.
*
Solid understanding of NDT methods and welding codes/standards.
*
Experience conducting internal ISO 9001 and EN 1090 audits.
*
Ability to effectively liaise with clients, subcontractors, certification bodies, and project teams.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication abilities
