Senior Planner – Major Infrastructure Programme
Birmingham | Hybrid (2 days onsite)
Permanent: £60k–£80k DOE
Contract: £450–£500/day (Inside IR35)
Ready to step into a senior role where your expertise genuinely shapes delivery? We’re supporting a leading client on a major infrastructure upgrade framework in Birmingham, seeking an experienced Senior Planner to play a key role in driving programme certainty across a high-profile project.
This is a chance to influence strategy from the outset—working at the centre of a complex, multi-stakeholder environment where strong planning leadership really matters.
Your Role & Influence
As a senior member of the project team, you will:
* Lead the development and ownership of fully logic-linked construction programmes using Primavera P6
* Drive planning strategy from tender stage through to delivery
* Shape construction methodology, sequencing, and resource strategies
* Ensure programmes align with contractual obligations and project requirements
* Embed robust project controls, forecasting, and performance reporting
* Mentor and support junior planners, championing best practice
* Collaborate closely with design, engineering, commercial, and delivery teams to keep milestones on track
What You’ll Bring
You’re a confident, proactive planner who can balance detail with the bigger picture and influence teams at all levels.
* Proven experience delivering major infrastructure programmes (£300m+)
* Advanced expertise in Primavera P6 (ASTA and 4D planning experience advantageous)
* Strong understanding of NEC contracts and key commercial drivers
* A relevant degree (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar)
* Experience across the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through delivery
