Salary: £35,000-£45,000 (plus paid mileage)
Professional Development: 20 CPD days annually
A well-established environmental consultancy is seeking an experienced Ecological Clerk of Works to join its growing team. With a strong presence in renewable energy, utilities, and residential development, the company delivers ecological expertise across a wide range of infrastructure projects.
This role is primarily field-based and best suited to someone located in or near Perth. Regular travel will be required to active sites throughout the Central Belt, including wind farms, solar installations, utility corridors, and housing developments. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring ecological compliance and advising stakeholders on best practices for habitat protection and species mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct ecological supervision and monitoring on construction sites
* Provide practical, site-specific ecological guidance to contractors and clients
* Ensure adherence to environmental legislation, planning conditions, and mitigation protocols
* Record ecological observations and incidents, and produce clear reports
* Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and internal teams
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in ecological monitoring or ECoW roles
* Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation and mitigation strategies
* Confident communicator with sound judgement and problem-solving skills
* Comfortable working independently in dynamic field environments
* Full UK driving licence required
