Job Description:

We are recruiting for a Category Lead for Facilities – someone who under direction will manage and help steer the end to end sourcing for essential products and services our depots to operate.

You’ll be working for our Indirect Spend Category Manager, to support our operating companies, managing a portfolio of contracts across both products and services including things like Waste and Vending/Catering, Tools and Stationery.

You’ll play a pivotal role in sourcing the right products and suppliers whilst mitigating risk to the business and you’ll not be on your own – we have many subject matter experts to help along the way.It’s a role which will give you plenty of stakeholder exposure across our business and you’ll need to build strong relationships with our external supply chain partners.

It’s definitely a ‘sleeves up’ role - we are a busy department and there is lots of opportunity to help shape our strategy at this pivotal time.

We want to nurture work relationships and love to see the department in the office collaborating and thriving, but we recognise the advantages our people also gain from remote working, so this role offers a hybrid working pattern.You’ll work out of our Stockport office 3 days a week, to optimise those team building opportunities, and we offer 2 days a week working from home.

There’s just a couple of ‘must-haves’ from our perspective…

A background in facilities related procurement – experience tendering for both Goods and Services, contract creation and negotiation and supplier relationship management.You’ll need experience of analysing bids – a keen eye for detail, a passion for numbers and be commercially focused. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Some experience of developing and supporting team members is preferable. Ideally you’ll hold, or be working towards, relevant CIPS qualifications.

Salary

£32,000 - £35,000 Subject to experience
