This role involves the precise assembly, fitting, and maintenance of engines and their components to a high standard. Key Responsibilities and Requirements As an engine fitter at Head Services, you will be responsible for accurately fitting, assembling, and testing engine components according to specifications and technical drawings. You will ensure each job is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. Your day to day duties will include assembling and fitting engine components such as pistons, valves, crankshafts, bearings, timing systems, and cylinder heads. You will also inspect and measure parts to ensure correct fit and alignment throughout the assembly process. In addition, you will carry out maintenance and repairs on engines and related systems, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues such as oil leaks, pressure loss, or abnormal noise and vibration. You will be responsible for performing quality checks and functional testing after each assembly to ensure all components meet the company's standards. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised workspace, as well as following all health and safety procedures, is also a key part of this role. This position requires strong mechanical ability, precision, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience working with engines and will be capable of completing tasks independently as well as a part of a team. Skills and Experience The successful candidate will have previous experience as an engine fitter or in a similar mechanical role. A good understanding of engine components, tolerances, and fitting procedures is essential, along with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specification. Confidence in using hand tools, measuring equipment, and workshop machinery is required. Relevant mechanical qualifications are beneficial but not essential, as experience and skill are highly valued.
