A specialist property consultancy with a strong reputation in technical due diligence and building consultancy is seeking a Project Manager to join their Birmingham office. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with experience in remediation and defect diagnosis to work across a broad range of client instructions, particularly in the commercial and residential sectors.
The consultancy is known for its expertise in building pathology and reinstatement works, and the successful Project Manager will play a key role in managing complex remediation projects from initial investigation through to final handover. This role is ideal for a Project Manager who enjoys a technically challenging workload and who can confidently represent clients in both advisory and delivery capacities.
The Project Manager's role
The Project Manager will oversee the planning and execution of remediation schemes including cladding replacement, structural repairs, and fire safety upgrades. Working across the Midlands and wider UK, you'll be responsible for managing contractors, advising on procurement strategies, and administering contracts-often in live or occupied environments.
You'll collaborate closely with surveyors and technical experts, taking a hands-on approach to project delivery while also supporting clients with professional advice around risk, liability, and compliance. The consultancy values a high standard of technical reporting and client communication, and you'll be expected to maintain this throughout the lifecycle of each project.
The Project Manager
Degree qualified in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
Ideally MRICS or working towards chartership
Proven experience delivering remediation projects, particularly in façade/cladding, fire safety or structural repair
Strong contract administration knowledge (JCT, NEC)
Technically strong and comfortable engaging with complex building defects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable managing multiple projects concurrently
