As a Part 145 EASA/FAA and TCCA Approved Workshop facility, Rotable Repairs provides quality repair and overhaul services for most classic and current generation jet & turbo prop aircrafts trusted by airlines and aerospace organisations all over the world. JOB SUMMARY: The HR Manager leads all people operations for Rotable Repairs Ltd. Reporting to the HR Leader at VSE Aviation (US) with a dotted line to the UK Managing Director, this is the primary HR business partner for the UK operation owning employee relations, legal compliance, recruitment, and performance management. The role works in close partnership with VSE Aviation’s US HR team, aligning UK people practices with the global framework while ensuring full compliance with UK employment law and statutory requirements. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: HR Strategy & Business Partnership Develop and execute HR strategies that support business objectives, collaborating with senior leadership to align people priorities with company goals. Assist in the design and delivery of targeted solutions including change management, organisational development, and team building. Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture that reflects the company’s values and drives employee engagement. Provide support with internal communications, working with relevant stakeholders on people-related messaging. Employee Relations & Compliance Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures in line with UK employment law and ACAS guidelines. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation; review and update employment contracts, policies, and the employee handbook to ensure ongoing compliance. Lead the implementation and monitoring of drug and alcohol testing policies and associated procedures. Deliver training and workshops to equip line managers to confidently apply HR policies, procedures, and their legal obligations. Recruitment, Talent & Performance Lead end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and management of local staffing agencies. Build a strong employer brand and professional network to attract and retain top talent. Support the annual performance review, talent review, and succession planning cycles, delivering UK inputs to the VSE Aviation timetable. Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programmes aligned with business requirements. US/UK Alignment & Global Framework Act as the primary HR liaison between Rotable Repairs Ltd and the VSE Aviation US HR team, ensuring two-way communication on policy, people data, and strategic initiatives. Adopt and localise VSE Aviation’s US-originated HR policies, processes, and toolkits for the UK business where legally compliant; flag and document where UK statutory requirements (e.g., TUPE, statutory sick pay, redundancy, GDPR/UK DPA) require divergence. Maintain data integrity in VSE Aviation’s enterprise HRIS, ATS, and learning platforms as the system of record for UK employees; contribute to group-wide HR projects and M&A integration activity as required. Support global mobility, intercompany transfers, and short-term assignments between UK and US entities, partnering with US HR, Mobility, Tax, and Legal as required, and short-term assignments between the UK and US entities, partnering with US HR, Mobility, Tax, and Legal as required. Reporting & Analytics Use HR data and HRIS reporting to track retention, engagement, and compliance metrics, providing regular insights and reporting to UK and US leadership in line with VSE Aviation’s KPI definitions and reporting cadence. Use data to make recommendations on internal equity, compensation planning, and market competitiveness. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Vocational Qualifications Level 6, Bachelors Degree with Honors, Bachelors Degree. Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices. Minimum of 7 years’ HR experience, including recruitment, employee relations, and performance management. CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent professional certification. Proven experience managing HR processes across multiple departments or business units. Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor HR strategies aligned with business goals. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of the organisation. Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism. Analytical mindset with experience using HR metrics to support decision-making. Confident in conducting return-to-work interviews and managing attendance records. Knowledge of compliance requirements including drug and alcohol testing policies. Demonstrated experience operating within a US-headquartered or multinational matrixed organisation, including working effectively across UK and US time zones. Confident interpreting and adapting US-originated HR frameworks (e.g., job architecture, performance ratings, compensation bands) into a UK-compliant local model. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: PGCE, Graduate Diplomas, Graduate Certificates. Background in aviation, engineering, manufacturing, or other regulated industries. Additional certifications in employment law or organisational development. Prior experience with VSE Aviation’s HRIS stack, or comparable US enterprise platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, UKG Pro). Working knowledge of the structural differences between US (at-will, exempt/non-exempt, state-by-state variation) and UK (statutory rights, contract-based, ACAS) employment frameworks, and the ability to bridge them in practice.
