Description About the Team The Fundraising and Engagement Unit ensures a strategic and coordinated approach to our internal and external representation and enables the organisation to meet our strategic objectives through strategy development, advocacy, brand positioning, fundraising and stakeholder relationships. As part of the Fundraising and Engagement Unit the Prevention team delivers our comprehensive strategies aimed at reducing the impact of cancer. These include strategies to reduce the risk of cancer occurring, population screening to detect cancer and pre-cancerous lesions as early as possible, advocacy and public policy. We work collaboratively across organisational departments including First Nations Programs, Marketing and Communications and Research to develop and deliver our programs. About the Role The SA Comprehensive Cancer Network (SACCaN), led by the Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health (CEIH), will bring together South Australia’s leading cancer researchers, public health experts, clinicians, patients, carers and technology as well as promoting the best prevention programs, in a coordinated network. This role will work closely with the Prevention Programs Lead (SACCaN), Prevention Team, First Nations Program Manager and key stakeholders to develop and deliver awareness and education programs focused on cancer screening and early detection in First Nations communities as part of the SACCaN prevention initiative. The development and implementation of the of the SACCaN prevention pillar is critical to ensuring SA leads the country in providing a fully comprehensive Cancer Network that is underpinned by equity and best practice cancer prevention. Key responsibilities include: Applying health promotion/public health knowledge to successfully implement and evaluate the SACCaN workplan and annual business plans Completing project administration including tracking and producing milestone activity reports Fostering strong partnerships with stakeholders across First Nations primary health and community settings to enhance program impact and sustainability Developing and delivering presentations and engagements with stakeholders and community to promote cancer prevention and early detection Skills And Experiences About You You will bring: Knowledge and experience designing, delivering, and evaluating health programs Experience in cancer prevention and screening will be highly regarded Strong understanding of First Nations cultures and cultural determinant of health Experience working with diverse communities, particularly First Nations communities, including the use of co-design approaches Confidence in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with external stakeholders across a range of sectors Excellent communication and public speaking/presenting skills The role is a new position, made possible through a 3-year funding agreement with Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health. It is being offered as a part-time role at 0.6FTE, until June 2029. Additional FTE may be considered. Please indicate your preference in your cover letter.
