Person specification Education/Qualification Essential criteria Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy Registered with the Health Care Professions Council Up to date relevant knowledge through CPD as evidenced by portfolio Desirable criteria Membership of Royal College of Occupational Therapy and / or relevant special interest groups Attendance at Clinical Educator Course Leadership and management training Experience Essential criteria Appropriate post-qualifying experience in a range of areas acute care of the elderly, neurology and community Appreciation of constraints to working in the community A clear understanding of current NHS issues, professional standards, CPD, clinical governance and experience of audit Previous NHS experience Ability to assess patient conditions, establish the patients problem, formulate and implement a treatment plan Has sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other legislation Experience of MDT working and understand their roles Experience of supervising juniors/assistant/students Experience in research / literature reviews Experience in community work Post registration experience at band 6 level in a wide range of clinical areas including elderly rehabilitation, community rehabilitation, falls management, dementia care, respiratory care and orthopaedics Experience in quality improvement and service evaluation.
