Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven Policy Adviser to join our Community Planning and Partnership Team.
You should be qualified to degree level in Community Learning and Development, or a related discipline, or have equivalent experience in Community Planning and local government policy writing.
The post holder will play a key role in producing and progressing statutory policy requirements and supporting delivery across the communities of East Dunbartonshire. Responsibilities include coordinating the Community Learning and Development Plan, reviewing the Local Outcome Improvement Plan, and advancing Community Empowerment legislation and Child Poverty initiatives.
Applicants must demonstrate excellent communication skills, a proven track record in policy writing, and experience in partnership working. The role requires a commitment to engaging with the people and communities of East Dunbartonshire.
East Dunbartonshire is a small suburban authority located between the Campsie Fells and Glasgow. The role offers flexible working options, including working from home, in the field, and in the office.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland
All roles within East Dunbartonshire Council requiring PVG/Disclosure checks will adhere to the criteria outlined below.
Applicants for Regulated Roles under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before employment is confirmed. The cost of the check will be deducted from the first salary, with possible installment options. If employment ends before deduction, the full amount will be deducted from the final salary.
