Are you a dynamic commercial leader with the ambition to shape growth for a leading food brand?
At Pilgrim's Europe, we're looking for a Senior Commercial Manager to take ownership of a high-profile retail account, driving sustainable sales, profitability, and innovation.
This is a hands-on leadership role with a direct report, where you'll work side by side with senior stakeholders and retail partners — all from our collaborative, fast-paced Uxbridge HQ (5 days per week). About the Role
As a key member of our Commercial team, you'll lead the growth strategy for a major retail partner, managing a portfolio that's central to our business success.
You'll have full P&L ownership, develop and deliver Joint Business Plans, and work cross-functionally to bring powerful commercial, category, and marketing strategies to life.
Your influence will reach across every part of the organisation — ensuring customer strategies are embedded, opportunities are maximised, and Pilgrim's Europe continues to lead in an ever-evolving food market.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver profitable growth within your customer base, owning P&L and delivering against key business objectives.
Develop and execute customer Joint Business Plans (JBPs) that drive mutual growth and long-term partnership.
Champion your customer within Pilgrim's Europe, ensuring alignment between business and retailer goals.
Identify and act on new routes to market, particularly in convenience and online channels.
Analyse performance and lead promotional effectiveness reviews, identifying actionable insights.
Collaborate closely with marketing, category, and supply chain to deliver impactful in-store and online campaigns.
Lead, coach, and inspire junior team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
Integrate commercial plans into group strategy, budgets, and forecasts, contributing to Pilgrim's overall success.
Drive continuous improvement by refining commercial processes and building best-in-class ways of working.
About You
You're an experienced and ambitious commercial professional with a strong background in managing major grocery or retail accounts.
You combine analytical insight, relationship excellence, and commercial acumen with a drive to make things happen.
You'll bring:
5+ years' experience in national account management or senior commercial roles within FMCG or food.
Proven success managing top grocery retail accounts and delivering growth through effective joint planning.
Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
A strategic mindset paired with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
Experience mentoring or leading others to success.
Excellent analytical and Excel skills.
A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as required.
Experience in fresh or chilled food categories, category management, and product development would be an advantage.
