The role reports directly to the Head of Software and fits seamlessly within the group, serving as a vital bridge between management and the development team.****What will you do:*** Lead a team of backend and frontend software engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment;* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features;* Accountable for the performance, quality, and resilience of applications;* Design, implement, or prototype services for systems and solutions for technically complex products;* Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies;* Remove impediments to the team’s progress;* Follow development and quality best practices, but be critical if you believe they can be improved;* Take responsibility for making sound technical engineering decisions;* Document software and processes as needed;**Who you are:*** Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related;* Preferably 6+ years of experience as a software engineer targeting C++, C#, Java or Python as well as single-page web apps using React or Angular;* Proven experience as a Team Leader or similar role in a software development team, including internal and external people, focused not only on delivering software but also on people growth and providing a great team spirit;* Fluency in English (spoken and written);* Understanding and practice of Agile methodologies;* Familiarity with APIs, RESTful architecture;* Experience with event-driven architectures or event-streaming services;* Knowledge of IoT technologies, including communication protocols, cloud platforms, and network security.* Experience with code versioning tools such as Git or equivalent;* Strong understanding of quality management, including but not limited to standards, regulations and applicable policies and procedures;* Excellent organization and time management skills;* Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment;* Critical thinking with initiative;* Leadership skills, led by example;* Strong communication.**Desirable:*** Familiar with basic web application security concepts;* Experience working with real-time data;* Experience with microservice development and containerisation techniques such as Docker or Kubernetes;**What you can expect:**At Ocean Infinity, we believe in creating equal opportunities for all, celebrating each and everyone’s differences.
