The Role
Due to continued successful growth here at Fortem, we are looking for an experienced Plasterer to join our Repairs and Maintenance team at Amplius Housing in Rushden, Northamptonshire and the surrounding area You will be working directly for Fortem on a fixed term contract basis until 31st March 2026. * circa 7 months. There is a possibility this may become a permanent opportunity, but we cannot guarantee. Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm + Company Van, Fuel card, Power Tools, uniform and PPE all provided As an experienced Plasterer you will be able to ensure all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision for all Social Housing properties. You take ownership of work, aiming for successful turnarounds times, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being courteous and professional on site.
The Customer
Fortem's successful contract with Amplius supports nearly 8,000 houses, and we're expecting that to increase significantly in 2025. Our contract includes Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Complex Works and FRA workstreams with Planned Works and Preventative Maintenance as well.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Completing All Plastering works team to deadline and budget.
• Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required
• Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices
• Affording excellent customer service to client representatives
• Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner
• Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times
• Operating within the company's occupational road risk policies and procedures
• Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work
What you will need
Essential criteria: NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent in plastering / OR Qualified by experience will be considered Full UK driving license (Max 5 points) No driving bans in the past 5 years Must be able to pass our basic DBS check Desirable but not essential: Social Housing experience
