As a Principal Engineer – Mechanical Services, you are expected to have a strong track record in one or, ideally, multiple sectors that BakerHicks operates in. You will be a Chartered (or working towards) Mechanical Building Services Engineer with experience of managing medium-size projects or managing packages on large projects. You’ll lead and develop an enthusiastic and committed team of Engineers and Technicians to deliver high quality output on projects and support the Associates in in the Scotland building services team. Design and specify all aspects of Mechanical Services in accordance with current guidelines, standards, regulations and project deliverables
Management of Mechanical Services involvement in projects, including time, cost, quality and resources, client relationship management and delivery
Monitor and champion quality and compliance controls within local teams and projects
Provide engineering services design and consultancy work on behalf of Baker Hicks under the direction of the line manager or project lead.
Produce design deliverables (including drawings, specifications and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and ensure progress against the project brief
Check calculations and production of detailed drawings to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project brief and customer requirements.
Monitoring of project fee spend and deliver commercial objectives including invoicing and Cost Value Report management.

Management of staff in the production of calculations, design deliverables (including drawings, specifications and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison, liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and any other relevant duty required to comply with the project brief.
Chartered Member of Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (or working towards)
Significant experience of delivering projects in at least one sector that BakerHicks operates in.
Expert design of Mechanical Building Services systems, including HVAC and Public Health
Experience in using the following specialist software:
Demonstratable experience of delivering multi-disciplinary projects in several sectors that BakerHicks operates in.
