Your new company Birmingham City Council is seeking experienced Adult Social Workers to join our Peripatetic Team. This team provides a flexible, mobile workforce that supports Adult Social Care services across the city during periods of high demand, staffing gaps, service pressures or improvement activity. As a Peripatetic Social Worker, you will be deployed into a range of teams to deliver statutory duties and ensure safe, timely and high-quality practice for Birmingham's citizens. Your new role As a Social Worker within the Adults Peripatetic Team, you will work flexibly across a range of Adult Social Care teams, including community, hospital, safeguarding and review services. You will undertake statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, including assessments, reviews, support planning, safeguarding enquiries and Mental Capacity Act work. This is a fast‑paced role requiring you to adapt quickly, manage complex cases and progress work efficiently, supporting teams to meet statutory responsibilities and maintain service performance. What you'll need to succeed You will have at least 2 years post-qualification permanent experience in Adults Social Care and strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and safeguarding legislation.
