Non-Medical Endoscopist Trainee Post

* Band 6 Annex 21 para 2 (i), Gastroenterology Team, Ninewells Hospital
Responsibilities
* Responsible for a caseload of patients predominantly with gastro‑intestinal disease, initially carrying out diagnostic/therapeutic colonoscopy and capsule sponge procedures.
* Work collaboratively across health care boundaries; participate in research, education, audit and the JAG quality assurance programme.
* Act as an integral member of the well‑established gastroenterology specialist nursing team, based at Ninewells but also working across NHS Tayside.
* Demonstrate leadership, interpersonal and excellent communication skills.
Qualifications
* First Level Registered Nurse, OPD, Allied Health Professional, Physician Associate, Therapeutic Radiographers or Health Care Scientists (GI Physiologists) with evidence of ongoing professional development educated to degree level (or SCQF Level 9 equivalent).
* Professional registration with UK NMC, HCPC or PA MVR.
* Extensive post registration experience in a relevant sphere of practice.
Training and Career Progression
Training as a Non‑Medical Endoscopist will commence in September 2025. Upon successful completion of the Non‑Medical Endoscopy Training Programme and independent practice, the post will become a substantive Band 7 (£50 861 – £59 159 per annum) under Annex 21 para 2 (i) trainee contract.
