Horizon Teachers are happy to be working closely with a primary school in the borough of Camden in search for a full time SEN teaching assistant, working 1:1 with a child with Autism, to join their school starting immediately and will be rolling into the new academic year September 2025.

As an SEN teaching assistant, you will be expected to do the following:
Working 1:1 with the dedicated student and give them the time and support they need to learn amongst their peers.
Assisting the child in their educational and social development including creativity and play-based learning to encourage the development of their skills.
Managing any challenging behaviour that may occur and using initiative to find a resolution
Provide support inside and outside of the classroom, so they can fully engage in a wide range of activities.
Help to set up activities for the day, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit the child's needs.
What we're looking for from you:
Experience supporting children with SEN in primary or secondary settings
The eagerness to work alongside SEN students and actively build your skills for further progression
A positive and proactive work ethic
Can remain calm under pressure and can use their initiative in challenging scenarios
A genuine passion for working with children with SEN
Although not essential, this school is happy to accept any SEN or education related qualification as a bonus
