Location: Blandford Forum
Hours: Full-time (8:30am – 3:30pm)
Start Date: Immediate or September
About the School & Role:
Based in Blandford Forum, our Alternative Provision school caters to primary and secondary students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, including challenging behaviour. We are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to start in September (or ASAP), who will work either one-on-one or within small groups, helping students academically and emotionally while overcoming barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support students with autism in classroom activities and extracurriculars
2. Develop and implement tailored support strategies
3. Encourage positive behaviour and social skills
4. Assist with communication and sensory requirements
5. Foster trusting relationships to promote independence and confidence
Ideal Candidate Qualities:
6. Previous experience working with children in educational settings
7. Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or behavioural challenges
8. Genuine passion for student progress
9. Resilient, adaptable, and committed to a dynamic environment
10. Team player with excellent communication skills
