Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Configuration Engineer to join our team in the defence sector. The successful candidate will manage design configurations, documentation control, and ensure adherence to engineering change processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage design configurations and documentation control.
* Ensure adherence to engineering change processes.
* Interpret technical data and Bills of Materials for large and complex product assemblies.
* Prepare and handle Configuration Management documentation to provide governance and control of project activities.
* Manage and implement engineering design changes across a multi-stakeholder environment.
* Prepare and present changes within change control meetings.
* Support audits on suppliers, ensuring Configuration Management processes are observed throughout the supply chain.
* Collaborate closely with peers, functional, and project stakeholders.
* Apply attention to detail with integrity in controlling engineering data, drawings, and CAD models.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Background in Configuration Control or Technical Data Management within the Defence or Aerospace industry or similar.
* Proven experience in interpreting technical data and Bills of Materials.
* Familiarity with the principles of Configuration Management within an aerospace or defence setting.
* Experience managing and implementing engineering design changes.
* Ability to support supplier audits.
* Strong team working and communication skills.
* Attention to detail in controlling engineering data.
* Experience with PTC Windchill as a Product Lifecycle Management tool is desirable.
