About The Role
PRODUCT ENGINEER – PE2-24
In this challenging role, you will join our Technical Department, providing a high level of product / technical support for the development, manufacturing, and use of the range of Brett Martin products.
As a Product Engineer, your role will involve: -
· Maintaining familiarity with all aspects of the Brett Martin product portfolio, including relevant legislation, product applications, and industry best practices;
· Lead the design process and assist with product development and testing required for third party certification;
· Employing statistical tools to meticulously monitor, analyse, and offer recommendations for optimising the manufacturing process, proactively ensuring quality and efficiency while troubleshooting issues reactively;
· Managing and creating process documentation, encompassing flow diagrams, operational guidelines, training materials, and product specifications, with prompt communication of any updates to the Quality and Production departments;
· Assist in coordinating the implementation of and commissioning of new products within the Plumbing and Drainage and Ariel departments, ensuring products are fit for purpose before they are officially handed over to production for regular manufacture;
· Contributing to the testing and analysis of departmental trials, providing comprehensive feedback to Production and Quality Assurance Departments, along with relevant reports or data;
· Provide regular feedback to the Technical Manager on all aspects of the role, as agreed with the Technical Manager;

Your qualifications and skills:-
· Degree qualified in Engineering related discipline (or equivalent);
· Proficient in the use of CAD software, particularly Autodesk or similar;
· Good working knowledge of Windows-based software e.g. Microsoft Office;
· Ability to initiate and manage multiple tasks and projects;
· Experience with report writing, including method statements and conclusions;
· Adaptable and able to cope with rapidly changing demands;
· Good communication skills and adept at responding to enquiries in a professional manor.
Other skills (these are desirable not essential):-
* Proficiency with SharePoint or similar software;
· Knowledge / experience of plastics materials and their manufacturing processes;
· Experience of construction / drainage industry;
* Experience using different British/European Standards including achieving 3rd party certifications;
* Test Lab Experience working with both material and product tests (impact testing, Charpy/Izod, Universal test machines etc.);
· Experience in product testing and/or product development.
