Scope of the role
The Mechanical Design Engineer supports end-to-end development, partnering with nearby suppliers to accelerate learning and delivery.
* Create SolidWorks 3D CAD and detailed drawings for production.
* Design plastic components for injection moulding and assembly automation.
* Prototype, plan tests, analyse results and iterate.
* Support DFM and tolerance discussions with suppliers.
* Collaborate with electronics, firmware and industrial design colleagues.
Key skills and experience required
* Proven project work as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Design Engineer.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university.
* SolidWorks proficiency, sound drawings practice, and tolerance stacks.
* DFM for injection moulding; exposure to FEA and hand calculations.
