About this Role
The post holder will provide administrative support of the educational, social and physical needs of the students; to support the Operational SENCO in all aspects of supporting students with SEN and the appropriate record keeping. In addition, you will be the Lead Invigilator in running all internal and external exams with the support of the Exam Officer and Head Centre. You will be using your knowledge of students’ exam access arrangements to coordinate and plan the exams.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Support the operational OPERATIONAL SENCO in managing and implementing the process of assessment and testing for student with special educational needs and disabilities.
2. Support the OPERATIONAL SENCO in managing all aspects of student’s exam access arrangements. This will include completing assessor forms, applying for exam access arrangements and maintaining internal and external records.
3. Support the OPERATIONAL SENCO in maintaining a high standard of record keeping, including the SEND register and provision mapping for all students with special educational needs and disabilities.
4. Support the OPERATIONAL SENCO in the overall management of the annual review process.
5. Using your knowledge of students and their exam access arrangements complete seating plans, exam rooming, paperwork and all pre planning to ensure smooth running of exams.
6. Lead Invigilator for all internal and external assessments and exams.
7. To undertake First Aid training and be a first aider at South Devon UTC.
8. Completing safeguarding training to become a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer.
9. Support the Inclusion team in liaison and transition work for new students joining SDUTC. Collating information to provide clear information for teachers.
10. To produce accurate agendas and minutes from all meetings relating to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
11. To effectively manage SEND referrals to external agencies end to end.
