Experienced English Tutor for At-Risk Pupils – 1:1 Alternative Provision Role
Location: North Tyneside
TP Tutors are seeking passionate and dedicated English Tutors to deliver 1:1 tuition for pupils in alternative provision, LAC, EOTAS, and those at risk of exclusion across North Tyneside.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help young people rebuild confidence, develop literacy skills, and re-engage with education through tailored, supportive learning.
The Role:
* Deliver personalised English sessions focused on reading, writing, and communication skills.
* Adapt lessons to meet individual academic and emotional needs.
* Track and record progress using our online system.
* Work collaboratively with schools, local authorities, and consultants.
* Manage your schedule and travel between sessions independently.
Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of KS2–KS4 English, including Functional Skills and GCSE.
* Experience supporting SEND/SEMH pupils or learners outside mainstream settings.
* Creative, patient, and flexible approach to teaching.
* QTS preferred (relevant degree and tutoring experience considered).
* Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* Driving licence and vehicle desirable.
