With a strong focus on safety and technical excellence, we support major projects across the UK. We are now seeking a qualified CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector to join our on-site team in Newcastle.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting welding inspections, ensuring all work meets project specifications, industry codes, and regulatory standards. This is a hands-on site-based role requiring strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out visual weld inspections in line with CSWIP 3.1 requirements
* Review and interpret WPS, engineering drawings, and project specifications
* Monitor welding activities to ensure compliance with quality and safety procedures
* Identify non-conformances and support corrective action processes
* Produce clear and accurate inspection reports and maintain QA documentation
* Collaborate with welders, supervisors, and project management teams
* Ensure adherence to company standards, client requirements, and regulatory frameworks
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
* Valid CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification
* Previous on-site experience in a similar inspection role
* Good understanding of welding methods, materials, and NDT fundamentals
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Strong communication and reporting skills
* Right to work in the UK
Preferred:
* Additional NDT qualifications (MPI, DPI, UT, etc.)
* Experience within EPC, fabrication, offshore, industrial, or heavy-engineering environments
