Join to apply for the Project Manager – Water Sector role at Stantec.

As a Project Manager at Stantec, you will lead delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary water sector projects across all stages of the project lifecycle. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is well suited to individuals who thrive in collaborative environments and are committed to delivering excellent client service. The position can be based in one of our offices in Shrewsbury, Derby, Birmingham, Redditch, Bristol, Cardiff, Taunton, Exeter, Plymouth, or Truro.


Responsibilities

* Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of water sector projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and Stantec’s Project Management Framework.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
* Identify and mitigate risks early; address issues proactively to keep projects on track.
* Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to meet financial and operational targets.
* Prepare and present regular updates and documentation to internal and external audiences.
* Support the development of junior team members through coaching and mentoring.
* Uphold and promote compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards throughout project activities.


Qualifications

* Degree in engineering, environmental science, project management, or a related discipline; strong understanding of project management principles, tools, and methodologies.
* A professional certification such as PMP or APM would be advantageous.
* Experience with NEC contracts and delivering projects using a risk-based approach is beneficial.
* Ideally, experience in the water sector and delivering detailed engineering services, in collaboration with contractors or through managing complex infrastructure projects.
