Here at Atlas Copco Deeside, we are looking for a Development CNC Machinist to join the R&D Team, responsible for developing and manufacturing a range of new and innovative prototype fastening solutions that shape the future of industries like automotive.
Roles and responsibilities
* Collaborate with the product development team to develop and manufacture new and innovative prototype fasteners
* Be competent in the safe use of specialist laboratory equipment, testing equipment and production equipment, specifically: CNC Swiss/Sliding head lathe, manual lathe and manual milling machines
* Safely use chemicals and chemical handling equipment both in the lab and the production areas
* Collaborate with other departments and work within cross functional teams to support the development and implementation of new fastener designs and contribute to a broad range of research and business objectives

You'll thrive if you are:
* An experienced CNC machinist including manual turning/milling machines
* Confident using quality and inspection equipment to verify part conformity
* Able to use and carry out general maintenance on machine tools
* Able to understand and interpret engineering/manufacturing drawing
* Able to read and edit Fanus G-code
You might have experience in:
* Manufacturing, production, automotive, or mechanical trades
* Quality Management Systems (ISO9001 or IATF16949 or similar)
* Manufacturing small precision components
* Operating and programming sliding head lathes
* Specifying and procuring suitable cutting tools
* Using CAD/CAM packages; ideally GIBBS CAD/CAM (but training will be provided)
