Job Description
A welcoming and supportive primary school is seeking a reliable and proactive Premises Officer to join their dedicated team. This role is offered via an external recruitment partner and will run until August 2027 but is likely to run even longer than that with the potential for a permanent position.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Salary & Working Hours (32.5 per week)
- £15.00 – £15.50 per hour
- Monday to Friday (Split Shift): 7:15am – 11:15am - 3:15pm – 5:45pm
The Role
As Premises Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, safety and security of the school site.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the site is secure at all times, including opening/locking up
- Act as a key holder for the premises
- Monitor and maintain systems (heating, lighting, alarms, CCTV)
- Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance
- Arrange and oversee contractors and external works
- Conduct regular health & safety and fire safety checks
- Ensure compliance with COSHH and H&S regulations
- Support with moving equipment and furniture (portage duties)
- Manage cleaning/site staff and monitor standards
- Order supplies and maintain stock levels
- Assist with lettings and site use outside school hours
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children at all times
