Overview Our client is seeking a motivated and commercially focused Business Development Manager to drive the continued growth of their Water Treatment and Water Hygiene division. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional with strong industry knowledge to join a well-established compliance and water management business. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and expanding the company’s presence across sectors including commercial, industrial, healthcare, and the public sector. This role requires a strong understanding of water management services and compliance requirements, combined with the ability to deliver tailored solutions that meet the needs of clients. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Growth * Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the Water Treatment and Water Hygiene markets. * Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities to consistently meet and exceed sales targets. * Prepare and deliver high-quality proposals, tenders, and client presentations. * Conduct market analysis to identify industry trends, competitor activity, and new opportunities for growth. Client Relationship Management * Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders including facilities managers, engineers, procurement teams, and decision-makers. * Attend client meetings and site visits to understand operational requirements and provide tailored service solutions. * Maintain and grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities for service expansion and upselling. Technical & Compliance * Work closely with technical and operational teams to develop effective water treatment and water hygiene solutions. * Maintain a strong understanding of relevant legislation and guidance including ACoP L8, HSG 274, BS 8580, and industry best practices. * Ensure all proposed services align with regulatory requirements and company quality standards. Collaboration & Reporting * Collaborate with internal teams across operations, marketing, and technical departments to ensure successful project delivery. * Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and market insights. * Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities to promote services and develop new relationships. Skills & Experience Required * Proven track record in business development or sales within Water Treatment, Water Hygiene, Environmental Services, or a related technical sector. * Strong understanding of Legionella control, water treatment systems, and industry compliance frameworks. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. * Ability to interpret technical information and present clear, client-focused solutions. * Highly motivated with strong organisation and pipeline management skills. * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites. Preferred Qualifications * Degree or technical qualification in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (desirable but not essential). * Industry certifications such as City & Guilds Legionella Control, Water Treatment training, or relevant industry qualifications.
