Job Overview

Applications are invited from enthusiastic, motivated HCPC registered therapy radiographers, or students who are due to qualify soon, to join the friendly, passionate team at The North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre. As a Band 5 Radiographer, you will rotate through pre‑treatment and treatment areas and will be fully supported via a mentorship and training programme. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.

The department is equipped with four Varian Linear Accelerators, a Gulmay Orthovoltage Unit, Canon CT Planning Scanner, ProSoma, Eclipse TPS and Surface Guided Radiotherapy. A programme of Linac replacement is underway. The post holder is expected to work flexibly within the hours of 08:00 to 18:30 to cover the operational needs of the service and to participate in the on‑call rota.


Responsibilities

* Contribute to a patient‑focused service of the highest quality under the supervision of senior radiographers and the Superintendent Radiographers.
* Contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective radiotherapy service, identifying and communicating the need for possible improvements.
* Undertake and assist with a wide range of radiotherapy treatments across the Radiotherapy Department in the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre, as appropriate to the level and scope of training – this may include undertaking emergency treatments out of hours.
* Perform high‑quality radiotherapy treatments ensuring efficient delivery of workflow and compliance with statutory regulations relating to ionising radiation, BCUHB, Radiotherapy, and Medical Physics Department policies and procedures.


Requirements

* HCPC Registered Radiographer.
* B.Sc. in Radiotherapy Radiography or equivalent.
* Recent experience of working within a busy Radiotherapy department using a range of modern radiotherapy techniques.
* Ability to speak Welsh is desirable. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
* Experience working with modern Varian equipment and Aria software (desirable).
* Experience in other radiotherapy departments (desirable).
* Experience working in the NHS (desirable).
