Role Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Legal and Insurance on larger, complex matters through co‑ordinating external legal support and handling a varied casework of legal matters (commercial law, litigation, procurement, construction, environmental, planning, health and safety, public and regulatory law) to ensure the business is appropriately advised and risks are minimised.
- Act as a strategic business partner and collaborate with colleagues across the business, including participating in cross‑functional project teams, to deliver strategic priorities.
- Assist managers and directors with risk identification and mitigation by providing guidance and acting as a subject matter expert.
- Deliver legal training to internal and external stakeholders through workshops and seminars to build legal awareness within the business.
- Maintain relationships with third‑party legal advisors, ensuring high service quality and effective contract management.
- Continuously engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of statutory limitations, organisational strategies and commercial drivers.
- Advise TfW on legal matters within their statutory frameworks and interests, providing fully considered advice and recommendations.
- Deputise for the Head of Legal and Insurance during absences and perform other duties as required to support the organisation and minimise risk.
- Act as the first and primary contact for stakeholders on a day‑to‑day basis, providing commercially focused legal advice to minimise risk and ensure accurate, consistent information.
- Maintain matters in good organisational shape and in accordance with agreed quality and service levels.
