Mental Health Social Worker

A unique opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and driven individual to work as a Social Work professional in an integrated Mental Health Team. You will provide appropriate and effective interventions to people with severe and enduring mental health needs, supporting them and their networks to meet daily health, social care and well‑being needs in line with personal recovery goals.
Key responsibilities and expectations:
* Act with professionalism and integrity, serving as a role model and ensuring equality for all.
* Tailor services to individual needs, adapting and responding to client requirements.
* Operate within a multi‑disciplinary team, communicating effectively with colleagues inside and outside the department.
* Apply knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Care Act 2014, including related codes of practice.
* Conduct initial assessments and risk management for clients presenting to the service.
* Develop and implement care plans that promote recovery principles and a strength‑based approach.
* Maintain a complex workload and work with a wide range of individuals and agencies.
* Provide high‑quality customer service that complies with NHS employment and legislative standards.
* Foster a learning environment where feedback is welcomed, and promote a “no‑blame” culture that encourages sharing of experiences.
* Support clients in achieving and sustaining independent living, including visiting secure units, acute psychiatric hospitals, residential homes and supported living settings.
* Adapt to a role that includes sitting, standing, walking, and may involve emotional stress; appropriate supervision and de‑briefing is available.
* Work within agreed timescales and meet conflicting deadlines as required.
Required qualifications and experience:
* Registered with Social Work England or HCPC.
* Training in the protection of vulnerable adults.
* Post‑qualifying experience in social work.
* Experience working in a community setting with people having mental health problems.
* Experience in assessment, care management and working within a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Experience or understanding of mental health service provision, including working with dual diagnosis.
* Ability to be mobile across a geographical area and to adapt to varying settings.
* Sound understanding of recovery principles and a strength‑based approach.

Salary range: £39,959 to £48,117 per annum (pro rata).
