Due to the significant growth of the Northern Ireland Public Sector business, Version 1 is keen to recruit an experienced Account Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Account Manager looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to work with large-scale clients.
You will develop an existing portfolio of customer accounts across the public sector in a way that delivers sales and growth targets, maximizes revenue, and delivers the highest level of customer service.
The role will be part of a successful team focused on Public Sector opportunities. The team comprises salespeople who generate new opportunities or lead responses to large government tenders, and Account Managers who manage opportunities within the existing customer base.
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
* Communicating clearly with clients, addressing concerns, and resolving conflicts
* Raising clients’ business concerns and needs to management
* Negotiating and closing business contracts with existing and new clients
* Delivering sales pitches to prospective clients
* Preparing and presenting business and account updates to management and clients
* Monitoring client budgets, explaining costs, and discussing new terms if necessary
* Following up with clients to ensure satisfaction with Version 1 services
* Contributing to sales strategies by assessing current results, monitoring competitors, identifying needs, and analyzing customer reactions
Qualifications
* Experience in business development or account management, preferably in the Public Sector or Central Government
* Experience in IT Services and technology solutions (not products)
* Knowledge of Public Sector tender processes
* Influencing skills: ability to coordinate with multiple levels to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables, without direct authority
* Excellent written skills for tender and internal documentation, with proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage internally and externally
* Experience building strong customer relationships
* Good commercial awareness and understanding of project and business dynamics
* Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage personal time efficiently
