About You:
Thistley Hough Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and highly motivated Leader of Key Stage 3 Maths to join our dedicated secondary school team from September. You will have a genuine passion for Mathematics and a strong track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning across KS3, with the ability to inspire students and secure strong foundations for future success in Maths. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maths teacher ready to take on a leadership role, or for a current KS3 practitioner seeking to further develop their curriculum and leadership expertise within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.
You will be a confident and effective leader with the ability to motivate and support colleagues, drive improvements in teaching and learning, and oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and intervention strategies at KS3. A proactive approach to monitoring student progress, raising attainment, and embedding consistent, high-quality practice is essential. You will work collaboratively within the Maths department, demonstrating creativity in curriculum design, strong communication skills, and a student-centred mindset to ensure all learners are challenged and supported to achieve their full potential.
Our ideal candidate will have:
1. Strong knowledge of the KS3 Maths curriculum, with the ability to design and implement engaging, well-sequenced, and differentiated schemes of work that build secure mathematical understanding and prepare students effectively for KS4.
2. A proven track record of excellent classroom practice, demonstrating high expectations and the ability to raise attainment and enthusiasm for Maths across all Key Stage 3 year groups.
3. Leadership experience or clear leadership potential, including the ability to support and develop colleagues through coaching, mentoring, or leading CPD.
4. A commitment to curriculum development and assessment, ensuring progress is accurately tracked and interventions are targeted, timely, and effective.
