Risk Analyst
This is a chance to take real ownership of risk within a growing specialist finance group. You’ll play a central role in shaping and strengthening the risk framework, turning insight into action and helping the business grow with confidence.
Role Overview:
* Location: Watford/5 days per week in the Office
* Package: £55,000- £65,000pa & benefits
* Industry: Financial Services
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Own and enhance the risk register and RCSA cycle, ensuring regular reviews, post-event updates and continuous improvement.
* Monitor and analyse risk exposures across the business, clearly highlighting material and emerging risks.
* Quantify financial impacts from risk events and operational losses, providing meaningful insight to stakeholders.
* Review risk events, compliance breaches and KRIs to assess control effectiveness and identify trends.
* Produce concise, board-ready reporting on the organisation’s risk profile, flagging key changes and control performance.
* Track regulatory and industry developments, assessing potential impact on the risk landscape.
* Refine and improve enterprise-wide risk processes, tools and documentation.
* Provide practical, commercially focused advice on risk impacts across different disciplines.
* Support assurance reviews and deep dives, identifying root causes and recommending pragmatic improvements.
* Deliver guidance and training to risk owners to ensure consistent application of the framework.
Main Skills Needed:
* 3+ years’ experience in risk management within financial services.
* Experience working for a lending company is highly preferred.
* Strong understanding of ISO 31000 principles, including risk quantification and project or operational risk analysis.
* Strong understanding of FCA regulations and ideally exposure to working within an FCA regulated environment.
* Proven experience managing RCSA cycles, risk registers and risk policies.
* Strong analytical capability with the ability to turn complex data into clear, committee-ready insight.
* Confident communicator, able to influence senior stakeholders and present with clarity.
* Experience supporting assurance activity and conducting detailed investigations.
* Comfortable using risk systems, dashboards, KRIs and MS Office tools.
