Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and driven, highly motivated nurse manager to lead the Ambulatory and Assessment Unit team at Velindre Cancer Centre in a Band 7 role.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of an evolving SDEC/Semi-elective service working alongside the Acute Oncology Advanced Clinical Practitioner team.

This service is currently undergoing a period of transformation to meet the increasing demands and continued development of services. As part of this change, we are looking for passionate and adaptable candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidates will have prior experience in leadership and management as well as in the care of the acutely unwell or deteriorating patient.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

· Deliver operational nursing leadership and act as a professional lead, taking corrective action when necessary to uphold Trust and professional standards.

· Contribute to the delivery of the Quality, Safety, and Assurance agenda across the Cancer Centre.

· Maintain a highly visible and accessible presence in clinical areas, supporting staff and ensuring excellent standards of care.

· Participate in the Cancer Centre Senior Nurse/Operational Pager rota, providing clinical and operational advice as required.

· Provide support to the treatment helpline and professional leadership across a range of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
