Overview
The Fire Safety Advisor supports the Head of Fire Safety for managing all aspects of: Fire Safety, Fire Prevention, and Fire Safety Training development and delivery to all staff.
Main duties of the job
Main duties include providing professional advice regarding:
* Fire Code
* Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005
* Building Regulations
* All other relevant legislation within the Trust and for other client bodies
The Fire Safety Advisor is to support the Head of Fire Safety in providing and maintaining an adequate level of fire safety throughout the Trust’s estate.
The Fire Safety Advisor will ensure that the Trust complies with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO), NHS Estates Firecode Policy and Principles, and associated management and design guidance.
The Fire Safety Advisor will work closely with the Head of Fire Safety, Estates Management, Capital Projects Team, care Groups and Departmental managers in clinical and non-clinical areas to ensure the provision of a fire-safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors and to facilitate sustained or improved patient care and wellbeing.

Job responsibilities
Band
Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any week day after 8pm and before 6am
All time on Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight)

Person Specification
Education & Qualification
* Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience in fire safety
* Specialist Fire Safety Courses e.g. Fire Service College or equivalent
* NEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management
* IOSH General Certificate Health & Safety
* Knowledge of and experience of application of current Firecode and Building Regulations Approved Document B
Experience
* Extensive Fire Safety experience
* Experience of training development and delivery encompassing thorough knowledge of Fire Safety Legislation and relevant Codes of Practice or Fire Risk Assessment process and training techniques
