Our team is small but mighty, and offers a comprehensive service covering both face-to-face and remote appointments covering the entirety of the UK. We are on the hunt for a relief Typist to join our team, and assist us in continuing to provide the highest standard of neurodiverse care.
Overview
We are currently on the look out for a relief typist who will be able to work remotely within our team here at ADHD Direct. We are offering a flexible contract, with a base of 16 hours per week. Your working days will vary month-to-month and can be arranged between you and your line manager. Here's how it works
* Flexible Working Pattern: Your working days will vary month-to-month, all you have to do is keep in contact with your line manager to ensure that all your shifts are accurately noted.
* Proactive Engagement: If you have the spare capacity, you are welcome to reach out and let us know, and we can assign tasks like typing or even other remote administrative tasks.
* Training and Support: In addition to your main role as a typist, there may be opportunities for you to help support and train new typists and check their work for accuracy.
* Flexible Working Times: We will get in touch if things get particularly busy, and you will have the opportunity to potentially pick up further work within our team.
Job Description
Our administrative team is made up of lots of moving parts, and our typists play a key role in ensuring our communication with our patients is streamlined and efficient. We are on the look out for a pro-active individual who has experience within a fast paced environment, the ability to work independently and within a team, with computer literacy a requirement. The key roles and responsibilities are as follows:
* Transcribe detailed patient consultation notes accurately from recorded sessions, doctor's dictation, or hand-written notes.
* Ensure all notes are entered in a timely manner, including all relevant information, observations and are in line with HIS guidelines.
* Creating comprehensive, well-organised reports based on consultation notes and data pulled from external
systems.
* Formatting reports in a clear, professional style, following templates and guidelines provided by the service, ensuring all reports are proof-read for clarity and accuracy before submission.
* Communication via email with a neurodiverse patient group, ensuring all communication is clear and professional.
* Organising and maintaining a digital portfolio of patient files, ensuring all files are stored according to the practice digital record-keeping policy.
* Supporting the clinical team to clarify or verify any details required for accurate report creation.
* Strict adherence to service timelines and deadlines.
Qualifications and Requirements
There are no strict qualification requirements, however evidence of Office 365 proficiency and general IT
literacy is required. The other requirements are as follows:
* High speed typing proficiency
* Ability to transcribe and format reports with precision and accuracy.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality policies and respect patient privacy.
* Ability to manage a consistent workload, managing multiple tasks, and prioritising deadlines.
* Comfortable using all Office 365 systems, and general IT literacy for other systems.
* Familiarity with ADHD, ASD and neurodiverse terminology is a plus.
Preferred Skills (not required)
* Experience in healthcare or medical transcription.
* Background or knowledge in ADHD and ASD assessments.
* Familiarity with secure communication tools and encrypted email platforms.
