A leading UK developer are seeking a strong Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them and be part of one of East London’s most significant regeneration schemes.
This includes 3,500 units, new community area, park and commercial amenities.
You’ll join early enough to influence delivery, cost strategy and commercial control on a scheme that mixes high rise towers, mixed-tenure housing, retail/leisure and public realm.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Lead commercial management on major RC frame / superstructure works, from procurement through to final account.
* Develop and maintain cost models, cash-flows, cost forecasts and monthly commercial reports.
* Manage subcontractor procurement, contract administration (JCT/D&B) and variation adjudication.
* Work closely with the design and site teams to drive value engineering, risk mitigation and cost certainty.
* Lead monthly valuations, cost reconciliations and contract change control.
* Mentor and supervise junior QS staff; influence commercial culture in a high-profile developer environment.
* Interface with client-side, contractor and supply chain representatives to uphold quality, programme and cost parameters.
* Contribute to sustainability and circular-economy requirements
Profile:
* Qualified Quantity Surveyor (or equivalent) with minimum 7–10 years’ experience, of which several years delivered on large scale RC frame, podium and mixed-use developments.
* Proven experience working for developers or tier-one contractors in London regenerative projects.
* Strong technical knowledge of cost planning, subcontract procurement, variations, cost reporting and commercial controls.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to work across design, procurement, construction and commercial teams.
* Sound understanding of contract types (JCT, D&B), measurement and valuation techniques.
* Comfortable in a dynamic, high-risk, high-profile environment with multiple interfaces (utilities, live rail, major infrastructures).
* Strong Excel and commercial reporting skills; familiarity with BIM, cost software or take-off favourable.
* Strategic thinker with hands-on mindset: able to add value, identify savings, manage cost exposure and bring commercial rigour.
