Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as the Lead Occupational Therapist within the Lavender Walk Adolescent Unit.
Lavender Walk is a 12-bed General Adolescent Unit (GAU) caring for young people aged 13-18 with complex mental health needs and emotional difficulties. Located within the South Kensington and Chelsea Mental Health Centre, it benefits from good transport links and local amenities.
The team comprises Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nurses, Therapists, Social Workers, and trainees. We welcome new skills and ideas.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide Occupational Therapy to young people with mental health issues as part of a multidisciplinary CAMHS team. Responsibilities include developing therapeutic relationships, contributing to assessments and interventions, planning and delivering individual and group therapies, completing assessments, reports, and managing the OT team and resources.

Person specification
Education and Qualifications
* Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC registered OT
Experience
* Post-qualification experience in mental health services
* Leadership or service development experience
* Experience with standardised assessments including MOHO
* Supervision and workforce planning experience
* Managing complex caseloads and participating in audits/research
* Partnership working with external agencies
Skills and Abilities
* Assessment and intervention skills for individuals and groups
* Leadership and report writing skills
* Prioritisation, delegation, and supporting junior staff
* Understanding of OT models and practice
* Interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitivities and physical aggression
