Location: Site Based at HPC Reporting to: Construction Manager Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution Develop and implement detailed project execution plans, construction schedules, and work methodologies for piping works. Plan manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractor resources to meet project milestones. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure constructability and timely availability of drawings and materials. Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress and take corrective actions to address delays or deviations. Construction Management Manage all site piping activities including fabrication, erection, welding, NDT, pressure testing, flushing, reinstatement, and mechanical completion. Ensure proper implementation of construction procedures, method statements, and work permits. Supervise and guide construction managers, supervisors, engineers, and foremen. Interface with other disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation) to ensure integrated execution. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies, procedures, and project-specific safety plans. Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, safety meetings, and audits. Ensure all piping activities comply with risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSA), and permit-to-work systems. Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions. Quality Assurance & Control Ensure compliance with applicable piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI, API, ISO). Oversee QA/QC activities including material traceability, welding qualifications, inspection, and testing. Review and approve inspection and test plans (ITPs) and ensure timely client and third-party inspections. Ensure proper documentation for mechanical completion and handover. Cost Control & Budget Management Manage project budgets related to piping construction works. Track costs, productivity, and resource utilization; identify cost overruns and implement corrective actions. Review and approve variations, claims, and change orders related to piping scope. Support commercial teams with progress measurement and invoicing. Stakeholder & Client Coordination Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and subcontractors on piping construction matters. Conduct regular progress meetings and prepare detailed reports on schedule, cost, quality, and safety. Resolve technical, commercial, and execution issues in collaboration with stakeholders. Risk & Change Management Identify construction risks and develop mitigation strategies. Manage changes to scope, schedule, and resources while minimizing impact on project objectives. Ensure lessons learned are captured and applied throughout the project lifecycle. Project Closeout & Handover Lead piping mechanical completion, system walkdowns, punch list clearance, and pre-commissioning activities. Ensure as-built documentation, test packs, and handover dossiers are complete and approved. Support commissioning and startup teams as required. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. 10-15 years of experience in piping construction, with at least 5 years in a project management or senior construction role. Strong knowledge of piping construction practices, welding, inspection, and international codes and standards. Proven experience managing large multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors. Skills & Competencies Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management abilities. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in project management tools and construction reporting systems.
